Antecedentes: La Comunidad de Práctica de Enfermería en la Región delas
Américas es un espacio y recurso que la OPS/OMS oferta a profesionales
de enfermería y otros interesados con el objetivo depromover la
interacción virtual, potenciar el intercambio de experiencias,
información y conocimientos, y fortalecer las capacidades profesionales.

Profesionales de enfermería en la Región de las Américas representan más
del 56% de la fuerza de trabajo en salud y se compone de 9 millones de
profesionales. Ese espacio les dará oportunidades de aumentar sus
capacidades en la promoción de la salud, la prevención de enfermedades,
la gestión de la salud y la educación por medio del intercambio de
experiencias locales y nacionales y proporcionará a la OPS la expansión
de su cooperación técnica con los Estados miembros. 

Objetivo del webinario: Presentar e incentivar a los participantes a
utilizar la Comunidad de Práctica de Enfermería en la Región de las
Américas. 

Participantes: Representantes de Ministerios de Salud, de las oficinas
de OPS, de las universidades, de los Centros Colaboradores de la
OPS/OMS, de las asociaciones de enfermería, colegios de enfermería,
profesionales y otros interesados.

Convocatoria a inscripciones a la 3ra. edición del Curso: Introducción a
los cuidados paliativos dirigido a los trabajadores de su institución

La participación será voluntaria y gratuita, culminados y cumplidos los
requisitos se otorgará un Certificado de Participación, el mismo
requerirá un porcentaje mínimo de aprobación del 70%. 

Se identifican 3 grupos objetivos, sin límite en el número de
inscriptos: Médicos especialistas y no especialistas; Personal de
enfermería (licenciado y auxiliar) y licenciados en psicología;
Licenciados en fisioterapia, fonoaudiología, trabajo social,
nutrición, terapia ocupacional, personal de administración hospitalaria
y estudiantes universitarios del área de la salud. 

Las inscripciones estarán abiertas desde el 15/08/22 al 23/08/22. 

El curso se realizará del 1º de setiembre 2022 al 30 de setiembre
2022.

Abstract_ 

This article summarizes the objectives, structure, and activities of a
specific online community of practice called the Global Alliance for
Nursing and Midwifery (GANM). It discusses the importance of developing
online communities of practice in nursing and midwifery as a means to
equitably disseminate knowledge across the profession globally. It
details how GANM was first developed, its relationship with the World
Health Organization (WHO) as a collaborating center, and how it is
managed by a team of graduate students at Johns Hopkins University. The
article also describes the GANM community of practice, which included
over 4,000 members. It reports about GANM activities, including blogs,
videos, webinars, discussion boards, social media posts, podcasts,
publications, and conferences. Finally, the author discusses the
strengths and challenges of the GANM community collectively.

Abstract_ 

This article reviews the same online platform and community of practice
mentioned above, the Global Alliance for Nursing and Midwifery (GANM).
However, the purpose of this study was to perform a content analysis of
the GANM discussion board and describe how these findings can be
utilized to improve knowledge dissemination to practicing nurses and
midwives. The authors extracted data from the discussion board posts on
the online platform and used software analytics to describe the most
common usage forms and discussion topics between May 2006 and August
2020. They found that the GANM community members most frequently used
the discussion board to share opportunities for professional development
(85%). They then provide detail about which topics generated the most
discussion amongst the members, and how this can be applied to improve
the platform for practitioners.
