ERASMUS MUNDUS*

O Programa Erasmus Mundus – mestrado em Enfermagem de Urgências e Cuidados
Críticos (EMMECC Nursing) está com inscrições abertas para enfermeiros de
qualquer país do mundo, até 31 de dezembro de 2014.

Esse mestrado tem duração de 18 meses e está dividido em três semestres: no
primeiro, é oferecida a base teórica e metodológica, sendo responsável a
Escola Superior de Saúde do Instituto Politécnico de Santarém e pela Escola
Superior de Saúde da Universidade de Algarve (Portugal); no segundo
semestre, realizado na Universidade de Oviedo (Espanha) ou na Metropolia
University (Finlândia), o foco é a prática clínica baseada na evidência.
São oferecidas três áreas de estudo, no contexto da Enfermagem de
emergência: cuidados críticos a adultos, cuidados críticos a idosos e
cuidados críticos em pediatria, bem como gestão da crise de recursos
humanos em Enfermagem; no terceiro semestre, há o aprofundamento da
temática escolhida e o desenvolvimento da tese de mestrado. Esta etapa é
realizada em qualquer das instituições acima ou em outras instituições
parceiras nesse Programa.

O processo seletivo é dividido em duas partes: avaliação do currículo e
entrevista, realizada por Skipe.

MÁSTER ERASMUS MUNDUS EN ENFERMERÍA DE URGENCIAS Y CUIDADOS CRÍTICOS

Los enfermeros/as de urgencias y cuidados intensivos deben estar preparados
para hacer frente a problemas potencialmente mortales y a situaciones
complejas en condiciones extremas, razones por las que deben estar
provistos de conocimientos, habilidades y cualidades para proporcionar
cuidados a los pacientes críticos o inestables y a sus familiares.

Los enfermeros/as de urgencias deben ser capaces de priorizar la atención
al paciente y de ofrecer una evaluación precisa de la gestión en curso a
una gran diversidad de pacientes en situaciones que van desde
intervenciones para salvar vidas a la gestión de situaciones críticas. El
Máster Erasmus Mundus en Urgencias y Cuidados Intensivos (EMMECC NURSING)
es la primera titulación internacional conjunta en enfermería avanzada de
Europa. Ofrece una formación altamente especializada en enfermería con una
perspectiva avanzada. El programa combina la enseñanza teórica, actividades
y metodología de investigación, comunicación y gestión de situaciones
críticas y la práctica avanzada basada en la evidencia científica,
utilizando la tecnología clínica más moderna.

El objetivo principal del master es proporcionar un programa de formación
estructurado y metodológicamente adecuado que cubra la escasez de personal
especializado que sobrecarga los servicios de cuidados intensivos de
nuestros sistemas sanitarios. El EMMECC NURSING equilibra la enseñanza
teórica de la enfermería basada en la evidencia, la práctica clínica
integral y una sólida instrucción científica mediante un curso de postgrado
de 90 ECTS (un año y medio) conducente a una titulación internacional
conjunta y a un diploma suplementario reconocido por las cuatro
instituciones.

El primer semestre iguala el nivel de los estudiantes y ofrece una sólida
base teórica y metodológica para construir las competencias del candidato.
Los estudiantes también podrán elegir sobre una primera y amplia
especialización en Enfermería Clínica de Adultos o Pediátrica y Neonatal.
Los cursos del segundo semestre se centran en la práctica clínica básica y
la elección de la trayectoria de estudio opcional. El objetivo de los
módulos comunes es garantizar una calidad profesional sólida de los
candidatos, mientras que los módulos opcionales permiten a los estudiantes
configurar el master hacia una de las cuatro trayectorias de estudio
opcionales: Gestión de los Recursos en Enfermería, Urgencias y Cuidados
Intensivos de Adultos, Geriátricos o Pediátricos y Neonatales. El tercer
semestre consiste en un proyecto de la Tesis del Master que incluye
especialización adicional mediante prácticas clínicas tutorizadas. La
investigación guiada culmina con un informe que será presentado y evaluado
por el consorcio antes de otorgar la titulación conjunta.

MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAMME IN EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE NURSING, EMECC

Prioritising and Effective Ongoing Management

Emergency and intensive care nurses must be prepared to deal with
life-threatening problems and complex situations in extreme environments,
reasons why they should be endowed with specific knowledge, skills and
attributes to provide care to critically ill or unstable patients and their
families. Emergency nurses must be able to prioritise patient care and to
provide accurate assessment and effective ongoing management for a
diversity of patient populations in situations ranging from life-saving
interventions to managing critical situations.
First International Joint Degree

The Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Emergency and Critical Care Nursing
(EMECC NURSING) is the first international joint degree in advanced nursing
available in Europe. It offers a highly specialized education in nursing,
with an advanced perspective. The programme combines theoretical teaching,
research methodology and activities, communication & management of critical
scenarios and advanced evidence-based practice, using state of the art
clinical technologies.
Cooperation

EMECC NURSING is promoted by a consortium coordinated by the University of
Oviedo (Spain) and counting with the partnership of the Metropolia
University of Applied Sciences of Helsinki (Finland), the University of
Algarve and the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (Portugal). All have a
track record of nurse training in tight collaboration with local hospitals
–some of them also collaborating as Associated Partners in the Consortium-
and have, therefore, jointly developed a clear picture of the real-life
situation of their acute care units.
