STRENGTHENING OF HUMAN MILK BANKS IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN

The Latin American Center for Perinatology, Women's and Reproductive
Health (CLAP/WR) cordially invites you to the webinar:  Strategies,
tools and challenges for the implementation and strengthening of human
milk banks in Latin America and the Caribbean. 

The achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals is linked to
addressing and responding to multiple determinants. Among them, health
and nutrition in the life course and in critical stages such as the
perinatal stage, are central to achieving the established goals, as well
as for the full exercise of rights. 

Among the specific interventions aimed at promoting and favoring
breastfeeding, human milk banks represent a relevant strategy,
particularly in situations where breastfeeding is not possible. 

The objectives of the webinar are: 

     * Emphasize the importance of feeding newborns with human milk,
particularly preterm, small and sick newborns.
    * Present the specific guidelines for the establishment,
implementation and evaluation of the human milk bank strategy.
    * Promote specific interventions in the countries of the region
around feeding with human milk.
